COLLEGES OF EDUCATION STRATEGIC WORKSHOP: GOVERNMENT SHOULD PRIOTISE THE TEACHER’S WELFARE FOR EFFICIENT SERVICE DELIVERY–

The national commission of colleges of education organizes a 2 days strategic workshop on the challenges of dwindling NCE student enrollment in Nigeria colleges of education.

The workshop is primarily to focus on salient issues affecting the students enrollment into Nigeria colleges of education and as well finding a lasting solution in resolving the problem.
The provosts and registrars of these institutions gathered in Abuja brainstorming to identify the major causes of the problems and proffer solution to that effect.

According to registrar of Alfan Ikoku, college of education(AIFCE) Owerri, Barrister Bennetth Franchis Anyanwu while speaking with the journalists after the meeting express his displeasure over the threat of increasing the students of colleges of education in higher institutions. He explained further that students are facing serious challenges in getting admission into universities. Reiterated that urgent steps as to be taken to resolve issue. The registrar also talk about introduction of new method into the curriculum to make student self reliance and as well looking at the issue of reducing the subjects been offered by by bringing them together for learning.

Dr. Olu Andrew Kayode describes the NCEE Strategic Workshop On Dwindling Enrolment in the Colleges of Education as Timely and Resourceful.


He also lamented the poor welfare condition of the teachers urging the government to motivate them in order to discharge their work diligently.
